A MEETING POINT FOR "ALTERNATIVE PHOTOGRAPHERS"?

After a long gestation, we are at last able to propose a practical activity.
What we have in mind is a set of regular meetings, about every six weeks or ten times a year, near Brussels.

OBJECTIVES:

Create an "old photographic processes" network in the Benelux. Encourage contacts amongst people using the same processes
Training: introduction to various processes through demos, portfolio presentations, discussions of technical problems encountered by the participants
Group purchases (we currently have a good source for photographic gelatin)
Information on existing resources (film, photo- and artists papers, chemicals, developers, etc..)
Organisation of workshops (over one or several days, one or two times a year
Participation in collective activities such as "artists strolls", group exhibitions, cooperations with academies, etc...
... Other suggestions for completing this list are welcome

The meetings will take place in the afternoon, and during weekends. There will be about 10 meetings, approximately every 6 weeks. They will be open to artists residing in the Benelux, or in the french bordering area.

Héritages de Daguerre - BRY-SUR-MARNE (F) - 12 SEPT-18 OCTOBER 2009

The Louis Daguerre society will celebrate from September 12th till October 18th the 170th anniversary of the public disclosure of Louis Daguerre's processes. The programme will include: an international exhibition of contemporary daguerreotypes, conferences and special activities ( daguerreotype demos, on reservation)

EUROBROM 3 - BRUSSELS - 4-5 OCTOBER 2008

The third international meeting of European bromoilists will take place from October 4th till 5th in Brussels.
The programme will include technical demos, portfolio presentations, print exchanges,etc..
An exhibition devoted to historic processes will run from October 5th till November 2nd at "Halles St Géry".

Where?: Salle du Coude à Coude, Rue du Ry Chera, Domaine de Neuville, 4120 Neupré.

When?: Saturday 4 from 1:00 pm till 8:00 pm; Sunday 5 from 10:00 am till 8:00 pm.

Opening: Friday 3 February at 8:00 pm, with the participation of poetess Béatrice Libert and harpist Angélique Giorgio.

On Saturday 4 at 1:00 pm: The bromoil process, demonstrated by René Smets.

EUROBROM 2 - LEVERKUSEN - 22-24 SEPTEMBRE 2006

The second international meeting of European bromoilists will take place from September 22nd till 24th in Leverkusen, near Cologne.
The programme will include technical demos, portfolio presentations, an exhibition visit, etc.. More than 30 photographers from 7 different countries already confirmed their intention to attend.
